Enma Daiou Taisai

The statue of Enma the Great (about 2 m) is famous and called "Enma-sama". When you stand in front of the odou (temples building), the figure of "Enma-sama" will be illuminated automatically.

In recent years, many students who preparing for an examination visit here.

A big festival held on January 16th and August 16th every year.

Enma-sama is also taking holiday on this day, and it is said that the lid of the pot of hell opens.

In keeping with the vibrant drum sounds, prayers for family safety, good health, elimination of troubles, and achievement of academics are held.

You can hear the story of Enma-sama and enjoy the sound of Japanese traditional instrument "Koto" and "Misato-Bue" in Odou (Temple's Building) where the Enma-sama is sitting. 

◆Taisai (Grand Festival)◆
 10:00 am ~

〇 On the day of Taisai (Enma Daiou Festival), the ceremony of "Kome-tsubu Myougyou" will be held.

 ※Kome-tsubu Myougyou is the ceremony to write the "Namu Ami Dabutsu" (a sutra of Buddhist) on the rice grain. 
  Kome-tsubu Myougyou   4:30 pm ~6:00 pm (We will sell the rice grain with letters of "Namu Ami Dabutsu )
