Ashikaga Orihime Shrine is a guardian deity of Ashikaga, a textile industry land that boasts a 1,300-year history and tradition.
In 2004, the shrine was designated as a national tangible cultural property.
From the precincts, you can overlook the Kanto Plain, and the night view from Orihime Park and Orihime Shrine was certified as a Japan Night View Heritage (Natural Night View Heritage) in July 2014.
In February 2017, "Moon view from Orihime Shrine" was registered as the second certified registered place of "Hundred Great Moon in Japan".
At night, the moon view from Orihime Shrine is added the beautifulness combined with the illuminated shrine.
Ashikaga Orihime Shrine celebrated its 80th anniversary of transferring a Shrine (Sengu) in 2017.
