Saisyoji Temple（Ooiwasan Bishamonten） Western Area Shrines and Temples the Seven Lucky Gods

It is called Ooiwasan (Mt. Ooyama) Bishamonten and is known as one of Japan's three largest Bishamonten along with Shigisan (Mt. Shigi) in Nara and Kuramayama (Mt. Kurama) in Kyoto. It originates in the fact that a priest Gyoki Shonin was looking for the place that is suitable for worshiping the pure gold Bishamonten statue, God stood on a dream pillow and told him about Mt. Oiwa in Tenpyo 17 (745)
Every year, festival with bizarre and unusual ritual “Akutai Festival” is held from middle of New Year's Eve, and Takinagashi no Shiki” is held at midnight on the first day of New year.
